- La Senza changed the cut on them a year or two ago making them slightly less comfortable. They are almost the same but the change in comfort is noticeable.
- I hit 30 years old and La Senza's target age demographic remained the same. I found myself struggling to find a pair of underwear on it that didn't have #aintnowifey printed across the butt. I once bought a pair, thinking they were plain black and didn't realize until I was wearing them that they said "show off" in sequins across the bum. There is nothing inherently wrong with this, I just felt ridiculous in them.
Otherwise though, this simple pattern is gold. It's only two pieces, one for the side and one for the lining. It goes together super quick on the serger and the stretch lace is really easy to add with a zig zag stitch.
I made up a size 12 and they are super comfy without alterations. Obviously this will range depending on your body type and preference. I would guess each pair took about 1/4m of fabric and 2m of stretch elastic. I started with scraps but then decided to treat myself and bought some black organic bamboo to make a big set. I bought a bunch of different stretch elastics for variety and to see what was best. The quality of the elastic makes a big difference. I'd say that making sure the elastic is soft, has good recovery and is around an inch wide is best. The narrower elastic is not as comfortable.
